Big Band Music

All big band arrangements are written for 5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, guitar, piano, bass and drums unless otherwise noted.

Big Band music has been divided into 3 main categories:

ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS

INSTRUMENTAL ARRANGEMENTS

VOCAL SHOWCASE

Within each category (except Vocal Showcase), charts have been graded in the following manner:

The “Head Start” Series is for beginning bands (Levels 1-1.5), ideal for giving your band the basics and grounding they need to get a head start. All charts in this series are designed to work with reduced instrumentation (3 Saxes, 2 Trumpets, 1 Trombone, Piano, Bass, Drums). The arrangements for this series are generally suited for primary and young high school bands.

The “Dynamic” Series is for intermediate level bands (Levels 2-3), providing the motivation to affect development and stability in a group that is on the way to the top! The arrangements for this series are generally suited for high school bands.

The “Premier” Series is for advanced groups (Level 4 and above), those groups that need the challange to maintain their rank as leading ensembles. The arrangements for this series are generally suited for older high school bands and beyond!
